  1. I burned one good VCD with EasyCD creator 5. Now everytime i try and make a new VCD it gives me an error message saying. One or more files have been modified since creating the project. It is recommended to stop the recording and run validate porject from the application. what does this mean? i tried the validate cd layout and everything is ok. i also tried the help files in the program but that doesn't help.
    thanks jayson

  2. I have the same problem after unsuccessfully trying to copy a vcd, but I've EasyCD creator 4.02. Now I can't even copy an audio cd. Reloading the software didn't help. Please help. Thanks.

  3. I suggest you dump Roxio and get Nero. You will find you have less problems.

In two words: get Nero. I started out with Roxio software but found that it was so limited and user-friendly that it is an insult to human intelligence. The damn program won't even let you overburn CD's, for Christ's sake!!!

  6. ok so i've kind of given up on Easy CD Creator. i got nero and set it up to burn and it asked me to save a image, i don't know why. so click yes (once i clicked no and it cancelled my project) and the burn process begins. everything looks good untill i go to look at the CD... nothing. what the hell? does it have something to do with the image file?
    thanks

An "image" is essentially a CD that is created on your hard disk instead of a CD. If you make an image, you have to go to "burn image" and then select the image you want burned to CD. I think you probably either need to a.) select your CD-Recorder in properties. If it is not selected, Nero will only burn images. b.) make sure you are burning to a CD, not an image. Since you just installed Nero, I think that the problem is it's not "seeing" your CD-R drive because you haven't selected it as the recorder. Try doing that and see if that fixes your problem. Also, since you already have an image, just burn the image file once you do get everything working.

If nero is asking you to burn an image it is not finding your cdrw drive.

What version of nero did you install?

And what kind of burner do you have, you need to check the ahead site and see if your burner is supported.

  9. To VideoGuy79:
i went looking for the special button that makes nero record to a CD and i couldn't find it. but what i did find under auto detect CD drve, is that my CD-RW is not supported. god damn.

    To Sommersby:
nero did find my drive but it said its not supported. i have the HP cd-writer 9700 series. i have installed version 5.0.0.9

if nero doesn't support my drive, does that mean i need to update nero or find a new program?

check to see if the later version 5.5 or above will support it, if not you can email them and ask about it, once I had a drive that they didn't support and they sent me a patch the next day that fixed it....*S*

Wow--you have version 5.0.0.9? That's old--I have version 5.5.7.2. No wonder why your drive isn't supported! Try updating to the newer version of Nero--that should fix the problem.

Gee, I couldn't have told you that one!! Sort of contradicts the "honest Don" screename, eh? I am just kidding. If you can find Nero 5.5.7.2 for free, more power to you. I am much too lazy--I just pay for the software; it's easier that way.
