  1. I am trying to use an older DC30 card for Hi8 capture.
    Quality is outstanding!
    However, colors are all wrong!
Blue backdrop for bluescreen is green, skin tones do not exist, people are blue-gray, etc.
Captures with the WinTV are good color wise but not as sharp as the DC30

    Here is my system:

    Windowz XP Pro, SP3
    Asrock 775DUAL-VSTA mobo
    E2180 CPU @ 2.70ghz
    2 gig ram
    EVGA GT9600 1gig vid card
    XPLOSION 7.1 sound card
WinTV GO! capture card using btwin drivers
DC30 using aftermarket drivers & AMCAP software,( tried Pinnacle Studio 12, Sony Vegas 8 Pro, same problems!)
    Generic Firewire card

Do I have a bad card or is something else causing this problem, other drivers, cards, etc.?

Please advise as I have need for on-going very hi quality Hi8 captures!

    Regards,

Since you're doing an analog-to-digital capture, you could always put a proc amp, TBC, or other video processing device between your Hi8 device and the capture box. (Sima used to make a consumer-level color corrector. You could look around for one of those.) Otherwise, see if there is some preset that you are overlooking in the capture software. I don't use AMCAP, so I don't know if it allows you to tweak the hue and other levels. But it seems to me that you could alter the color with whatever capture utility you have.
