I am currently having an issue with my Audio and Video when I convert MKV files using GOTsent. The Audio and Video get out of sync about 10-15 minutes into the video. I tried using different setting with GOTsent but they still tranfered with issues. I tried all the re-encoding types, I tried to burn with and without subtitles as well. I tried to use the option to Normalize audio and the audio and video were still out of sync, just not as much as the previous conversions were.

NOTE: Not all of the MKV files that I have converted using GOTsent w/ subtitles have had audio and video out of sync issues. Its only a few MKV files I'm having this issue with. The other files seem to work perfectly fine when I used the Target as Xbox 360 and used Re-Encode H264(HQ).

I also tried these same MKV files in Handbrake and the MKV wont convert (I checked there forums and they know that handbrake has issues with some MKV files)

I also tried using Xvid4PSP and I get an error posted in my previous thread every time I try to convert an MKV to AVI or something an Xbox360 can read (not sure if its linked to adding subtitles or not). This is the error I get. "VirtualDub Error: The Function DeleteComments was called on a stream[?] that hasn't been previously initialized with SetSource."

The only unfortunate thing is I need to be able to add subtitles hard coded (i think thats the only way it works) because they are original Japanese audio.

Would one solution be just to use something along the lines of XenonMKV and then extract the subtitle file w/ MKVextractor and somehow re-encode the subtitles (.ass or .srt) with another program? Or does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this to work? I'm trying to get the end resulted video to have subtitles and playable in an Xbox360.

I fixed the problem, and I do not know how to delete my own posts. Sorry for the post.

You can't delete your posts, but you can edit them. However it would be more helpful for others that might be experiencing the same problem and find your thread, if you explained how you fixed the problem.

Sorry gadgetguy. Ill do that now.

What I was doing was in Xvid4PSP I was copying over the current audio track from the MKV file when converting. I experimented a bit and used these presets.

    Format: MP4 PS3 or XBOX360
    Video encoding: x264 Q21 Ultra
    Audio encoding: AAC-LC ABR 96k
And I added a .srt subtitle file (the subtitle file was a .ass and converted it to .srt using DSRT)

After the entire re-encoding process was done with no errors, I tried the finished mp4 on both my computer and Xbox360 and they worked perfectly. I did this with the few MKV files that were having audio and video sync issues converting with GOTsent and they worked when using Xvid4PSP.

Couple notes that may be helpful. I tried changing the audio encoding in GOTsent with the AC3FIlter Options button and tested a few of the preset options and still got the out of sync issues although I didn't test them all out. When I tried using the same file in Xvid4PSP when using the COPY audio Encoding I got the error described in my first post. I also only tried using the Audio Encoding preset AAC-LC ABR 96k since it worked I didn't want to loose a working preset. Also I don't stream from my PC to my Xbox360. I watch the finished converted files from a 1TB MyBook hooked up to the Xbox360 USB.

Hope this helps others who may have the same issue!
