I wanted to convert some anime to a 360 compatible format. I believe its h264 video, audio Im not sure. I tried Gotsent, and all it did was give me no subtitles and english audio. Then I realized I had to extract the srt subs then insert them, it didnt seem to pull them from the mkv itself.
So I used virtualdubmod to extract the srts, which was a lil tedious going through a bunch of error windows trying to open them in virtualdubmod in the first place.
then I pick jap audio, and embed the subs.
    Looks like it finally worked.
then I found out the audio does not match the video or subtitles, and the subtitles dont match the video or audio. everythings running at its own speed. What kind of options do I have?
Ive had these episodes on here for months. I try for a couple days, give up for a few weeks, and try again.
Id even settle to have them converted to xvid again and lose quality just to end this madness.

Use MKVExtractGUI (make sure to install mkvtoolnix to the same directory as MKVExtractGUI) to extract streams from an MKV. VirtualDubMod's support for MKV is rather dated, and doesn't really support VFR video (which most MKVs will probably have, these days).

You might have better luck converting with megui, or Xvid4PSP (using the X-Box 360 MP4 profile). Others here may suggest a few other options. Most of them still generally require you to extract the subtitles from the original video first, then add them to the conversion process, though.

I use mkvextract to properly get the subtitles out then used gotsent. now the audio is actually fine, but the subtitles/video are playing too fast. the subs are synched with the video, but obviously not timed correctly.
I compared with the real one and every matches, but a scene thats supposed to take place at 2:05 was happening at 1:40.
the full video length still said 21mins but its all black after 14 mins, just audio playing....
    Ill try xvid4psp i guess
