I am trying to burning AVI files to a dvd and having all sorts of problems.
Used a host of programs, but no luck. Totally lost, any help would be grately appreciated.
All I am trying to do is burn a simple 700MB AVI file to a blank DVD and play it on my DVD Player. Thanks for anyone who can help.

Use DVD Flick (freeware in the Tools section) to convert the avi to a DVD-compliant file that is compatible with stand-alone, set-top DVD players. (The end result should put a VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive.)

Use ImgBurn (freeware in the Tools section) to burn the movie to a blank DVD disc. Use Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blank media.

Are you converting the files to a DVD format or just burning the AVI (Xvid/Divx) as a data disc?

You can use a all-in-one converter to create a DVD from most AVI type files. FAVC is one, there are several others.

If it's a valid Xvid/Divx file, just burn as a data disc with ImgBurn if you have a Divx player.

AVI is just the name of the container and tells you nothing about what's inside. Use Gspot or MediaInfo to identify the file format.

    What programs have you used?

    And welcome to our forums.

If ever you will have problems again, I recommend FAVC. I was like you but when i met FAVC everything is working fine, and i never had problems anymore.

Then use ImgBurn. It is the best burning software.
