  1. I always see this in DVD2SVCD, does this mean that the movie is wide screen, u know kinda like half.

If so, is there a way to change it? I only have 27' tv and I would rather see a movie that is full screen. Is there a way it can be changed during encoding? Particularly DVD2SVCD program since i love it when ripping DVDs.

The ratio would be 1:1 VGA. Set it to that

  4. 1:1 is definitely not the setting you want to use. What you want to do is set your source aspect ratio to 16:9 (always always match the source aspect ratio, it's just common sense). Then you want to specify 4:3 output, except you need to choose an arrange method that clips off the sides rather than just squeezing the whole frame in. In TMPGEnc, I believe this is accomplished with Preserve Aspect Ratio Type 2. For DVD2SVCD, I'm guessing the underlying AVISynth script would need to be modified with some special resize and crop commands.
