  1. I have posted a few times today about some of my issues. I just broke down and bought WinCoder Full Version, instead of trying to get the ATI Television to work, or finding some other video capturing tool. Now, I was hoping that I could start some capturing but I encounter yet another problem. My All In Wonder 128 is not being recognized as a capture device. In WinCoder, and several other programs I tried just to experiment, it is being recognized as "ATI Rage Theater Video Capture" and I do not think that this is correct. I can't get video using composite or s-video. It just gives me a black screen. I used to capture using the Trial Version of WinCoder and it worked fine. I think that this issued started up when I installed new display drivers from ATI. Until now, I haven’t tried any capture of any kind since before I downloaded and installed the new display drivers. Please help me out. Thanks.

sounds like you have a big driver problem, what os are you using? that could be the problem.

I would follow the guide here for direct vcd capture from aiw card for completely uninstalling your ATI video dard, that means manually deleting some sytem files. Then I would make sure I have the latest drivers for the RIGHT card. Streesing the right card as there is about 4 versions of the AIW card and that could be your problem. Then I would install the latest direct x drivers and media player, then install the drivers for your card. What I can tell by your short description is you either have the wrong drivers, they are intalled wrong, (conflicting with another device or driver) or your card is bad.

  3. The new drivers you installed most likly does not support VFW, the default capture driver for most capture programs. Without this driver for the ATI card, the capture part of the ATI card will not work. You can install the old drivers, or get a VFW wrapper.

  4. I beleive I may have a similar problem to this too. I posted a thread a couple of days ago which nobody could offer any advice to. My ATI AIW wont be recognised being present or not having drivers installed when using anything other than ATI recorder/player. Ive downloaded the latest drivers but with no improvement. Would it be a good idea to upgrade from Win ME to Win XP?

The problem is drivers, for sure.... I have that card that only works with the drivers that came on CD and MMC 7.1... MMC 7.5 does not work in my system (has win98 and win2000 Pro)... The same problem when I updated drivers to version 4.13.7192.... it does not work!!! I lose TV...

I have to uninstall the MMC7.1 and drivers, like the guide this site said to do...

Installed back the original files and MMC7.1 and everything is working again...

P.S. I used to have WinMe, but downgrade to win98 because of stability of sound capture....
If it is not recognized as a capture device, you should have to install the VFWWDM wrapper.... look for its link this site, at SEARCH option (wrapper).
