Kbps : quality factor 0.14b/px with a video codec - XviD MPEG-4. The

audio is 2 channel : 48000 Hz sample rate with bitrate of 128 Kbps and

a codec - ATSC/A-52 Dolby AC3. Would appreciate info on how best

to convert it to play in a bought home dvd player. Anything I try is

You have a very old computer, if your specs are correct. Expect conversion to DVD with any level of quality to take many hours, probably at least 24.

If your player can play Divx.Xvid files (look for a Divx logo or mpeg-4 on the case, or consult the manual) then you may be able to burn it to CD or DVD as data and play it as-is. Otherwise you will have to convert it.

Most of the conversion tools are for Windows XP or better, or Windows 2000. You don't way what yours is running, and it is old enough to be running windows 95/98/ME. This could narrow the range of available tools.

I would suggest you try the freeware version of ConvertXtoDVD, known as DivxtoDVD. It is probably the fastest option for your hardware. You can find it here
