  1. Have been having this issue for a while, in converting some pal to NTSC files. All the settings are correct as far as I can tell, I am using the xvid codec, ffmpeg processes the file, but the output is still 25 fps. Why is this? mpegstreamclip seems to make the conversion using the divx pro, but xvid on ffmpeg doesn't seem to work.

    Please post the Process Information log. I'm curious what the log has to say about the used framerate.

    Point to consider, I had edited the movies with QT to delete some portions I did not want. Then I tried to encode the mov file. Here again though, mpegstreamclip was able to convert to 29.97, but not ffmpeg

    Your log looks like it was processed by mencoder, not ffmpeg. (ffmpegX can use either engine.)
    The log doesn't end in the usual way, like it is incomplete.

    Do try the XviD ffmpeg preset. Perhaps it performs better at a framerate conversion.
