I just got my new Toshiba lap top. I am running a vista home premium 32-bit SP 1. What i was wondering is how could i create a bootable disk in case my lap top crashes. Is there a feature already with the lap top or do i need a program for that. Also any good suggestions on how to optimize vista?

  2. call toshiba support and ask for the vista install disk? you'd think a decent company would have supplied it with the comp. if they don't supply one maybe download a bootable linux distro like knoppix.

It probably has a hidden restore partition already on the hard drive. You probably have the option to create a set of restore discs - look in the start menu to see if there is a program to do this, you usually have the option to create only 1 set of discs.

All new toshiba laptops come with the utility to create a master back set of discs for the purpose of restoring the system to factory setup install default.

Under the programs list from the start button ... either inside a folder called toshiba or out in the open list ... used it twice today.
