Canon HF10, *HUGE* price spike in same day?

I ordered my new Canon HF10 at QVC.COM earlier today, around 10am. I got it because it had 16gb of internal flash, AND QVC gave me 4 pay Easy Pay, so I only had to pay $179 up front and I have it coming in two days.

At 10am, I paid $668 for it.

Later in the day, I was telling a friend about it and said "Here, Ill just take you to the website and show you the camcorder". At 5pm, it was selling for $899!

Was I just lucky or what? Is there a great shortage on this model that make the price spike?

$230 is a lot of price increase in a 7 hour time frame.

What happened was, when you bought it, someone knocked over the price tag and flipped it upside-down, but an employee set it right later.

My HF10 will be here tomorrow, I cant wait! I guess Ill have to post some info on it, and some samples when it gets here.

Also, if I understand right, it records to M2TS files, which I have no experience with, so... Ive got a bit to learn!

I got it today, havent even had a chance to test it out fully, battery needed charging, all I got was 47 seconds of video, sigh. I did however come up with a system of converting the MTS to MP4 or what ever I want, AVISynth reads it no problem.

So far, looks great, even the camera features appear to be sweet!

Ill know more tomorrow.

As far as the price, I got set in solid on the $668, its a done deal, no monkey business on my CC... but I do feel sorry for anyone that gets it now! $899 is just unrealistic.
