I have some mp4s and I just want to keep the middle part of them. Is there a good freeware program to do this?

This might be above my head. It looks more command prompt based. Am I correct in that?

No it's a GUI. You'll need to type in the cut points nummerically. Options with visual cut points selections could be Video To Video, AviDemux.

Or avidemux. Set video and audio to Copy. Set output format to mp4 muxer. Click the start-button[A] and stop-button[B] and set them to the middle part. Press delete. Save as a new mp4.
If it fails try an older version of avidemux. Or latest beta/nightly build.
