I have a disc with some AVI's that use the codec Xvid. I can play them entirely without a single problem from the disc on my standalone DVD player but if I try to do anything with the files on my PC the files don't work, actually one does but only plays 6 seconds out of the 130 mins. They are there but VLC won't load them, MplayerC says that it is unable to render the files.
I've tried a few PC recovery tools with no luck and when I've scanned the disc with both Nero DiscSpeed and DVDisaster they both have a 100% good and readable sector scan for the disc.
Can anyone recommend any options I have to recover these files?

Can you copy the files to your computer? If so try run them through divfixpp or use virtualdub(choose video->direct stream copy and audio->audio->direct stream copy and file->save as new avi).

I tried everything but in the end just took the drive out of my standalone player and put it in my computer to copy over the files. Job done, files rescued
