I backed-up my SpiderMan3 BD to my server and the PS3 reads the m2ts directly and plays the video flaolessly and the background music/sound affects are there but the normal dialog cannot be heard. It is like the center channel audio info is missing. I used AnyDVD HD to rip to HDD. The BD plays perfectly on the PS3.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Some configuration details:
    Video Served by TwonkyMediaServer 4.2.2
PS3 connected to Phillips TV Via HDMI port.
TV has optical Audio Out that goes to Aiwa A/V receiver.

If you still have the full BD rip, you could try using tsMuxeR and see what audio is available. I'm thinking it may not have a regular 5.1 AC3 format audio or your playback is not using it. You could select just the main movie and the 5.1 audio track and 'start muxing' to get a new .m2ts file. That's fairly fast. Or demux the audio and use eac3to and see if it will convert your audio file. VLC or MPC-HC should also be able to play back .m2ts files directly.

Other than that, I don't think the center channel would just disappear. But I don't have any experience with a PS3. Others may have better ideas.

    And welcome to our forums.

I have tried muxing in each of the available english audio tracks indiviually. It seems that the only one I get dialog on is the directors comentary. Very strange.

I have also ripped the Enchanted BD and it works great and I think all of it's audio tracks are 6 channel. I also just tested Curse of the Black Pearl and it is also missing the dialog track.

I am holding on to the full rips for Spiderman and Curse of the Black Pearl to study them some more.

I also tried changing the settings of the PS3 audio output and it did not nmatter if I was sending it through the HDMI->HDTV (Pasthrough)->Receiver or going from the PS3->Receiver directly through the optical audio port.

I treid MUXing each of the 4 english audio streams with the video and it seems that none of them except the directors cut plays back all of the audio channels.

    TRUE HD - AC3 Core + HD Data - 640Kbps, 48Khz, 6 CH
    LPMC - 4806Kbps, 48Khz, 5.1 Ch, 16 bit
    AC3 - 192Kbps, 48Khz, 2 Ch (appears to be directors comentary)
    AC3 - 192Kbps, 48Khz, 2 Ch (directors comentary)

The other movies I have ripped I have found the AC3 (not TrueHD) 640Kbps, 48Khz, 6ch always works fine on my system.

    Here,where do you think?

    Is your receiver HDMI passthrough?
When hooking up the PS3 > Receiver with HDMI and optical out,did you set the PS3 to 'Optical' in audio settings?
Settings > Sound Settings > Audio Output Settings > Digital Out (Optical)

I have two ways to get the audio to the receiver...
    1) HDMI pass-through to coaxial digital audio to the input of the receiver.
    2) Optical direct from PS3 to the receiver.

In both cases I have set the Audio Settings properly as well as the Video Settings.

Both behave exactly the same. Even when I convert the True HD stream to AC3 (via tsmuxer) that yields an AC3 640Kbps-48Khz 6 ch stream it does the same thing (no center channel). I am really confused now because other movies (Pirates of the Carribean, all three) play perfectly with the AC3 640Kbps-48Khz-6 ch audio.

I don't know what to do next.

Problem solved. I found that the PS3 would not automatically detect that my receiver was capable of Dolby Digital 5.1 through the optical port. When I manually selected Dolby 5.1 in the PS3 Audio settings and then converted the True HD stream to AC3 with tsremux it all worked perfectly.
