I was searching my HD for avi files, and noticed some World of Warcraft avi's - thought hmmm, think I'll play one. Not! QT, MPEG Streamclip, VLC, DivX ... nothing plays it. In QT, DivX and VLC I get the audio but no picture. VLC pops up a window says ..... error:

main: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `DXGM'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.

Is this some proprietary format? It does play if WoW is launched and played within the game.

Still in the learning curve obviously!! Just tying ends together.

    Thanks

Edit: Thought I would add ... I have DivX, Flip4Mac and Perian in my system prefs and just downloaded and installed the MPEG2 component for QT today.

    Use Avi Fourcc Code changer.
Look ma ...... no hands!!!! Somehow I missed the link to the application and found the DIY thread, which I tried (had to find a hexeditor for mac) and viola - I did it. Really scarey though when you're totally in the dark and no flashlight. Smart enough to work on a copy at least. LOL.

    Thank you.
