  1. I have an anime AVI file in Japanese with Spanish subtitles and I don't know what is going on. How can I change the subtitles to English?

If you only have Spanish subtitles then you will have to find some English subtitles elsewhere, or buy the DVD version with English subs.

Try searching for subtitle websites , a few around and you might get lucky ... if not then

1: Try opening it in vlc and check subtitle languages which may have been included

2: If no english subtitles then try google translator.

3: Extract the Spanish subtitle, open it into subtitleworkshop, translate each line and paste replace, save at end, remux back to video.

You'll also need to know the "container" format ... with subtitle sounds like mkv ... search the tools section for tools related to subtitle extraction and remuxing into mkv container.

Torrents and/or Limewire aren't reliable sources for videos. Consider this the third suggestion of the DVD.
