I want to start a project to edit the videos I recorded with my Canon PowerShot A720 with Adobe Premiere CS4.

My problem is that the only thing I know is that the cam records :
    30img/s
    640x480
    avi format
    Codec MJPG (?!)
Resolution : 24 bits (what is that?)
    Image kind (translation?) : Progressive
    Bits/(Pixel*Image) : 1.487
Audio sample rate : 11,024 kHz

I need a little bit of help to chose (choose? Sorry, bad english) the right settings for the sequence as asked when creating a project.
I need Editing mode, Pixel Aspect Ratio, Fields, Audio Sample Rate (not sure which one to chose?) and video preview format but I don't think I have all of this information.

I have already used Adobe many times but I was capturing video right from a camcorder so I didn't have this problem...

    Thanks

    _Edit_

Nevermind, I forgot it wasn't like Final Cut, it doesn't matter if the videos I import don't fit the sequence settings.
But FWIW, here is the info about the videos a Canon PowerShot A720IS records :

    AVI
    640 x 480
    30,00 i/s

    Audio
    PCM
    11025 Hz - 32*bits en virgule flottante - Mono
    Resolution : 8 bits
    Rate : 88.2 kbps

    Video
    Data rate*: 1,6 Mo/seconde
    Pixel aspect ratio*: 1,0

Okay now I decided to use Final Cut Pro instead of Adbe Premiere (because it's faster).

So... what settings do I choose? I try to import my videos but nothing happens. =/

This is highly compressed MJPEG video with highly compressed 8bit 11.025KHz mono audio. Try Windows Movie Maker. It will play in VLC.

If you don't have an MJPEG codec, try PicVideo or Morgan MultiMedia (neither free).

Premiere CS4 needs a codec. Premiere Elements 4 probably has it.

FCP is very particular what it accepts and MJPEG isn't on the list.

We are talking very low quality video here ~70x intraframe compressed.
