I have created a 4 min movie. I have done it as Quicktime and currently stands at 245mb. I tried to used Divx to down size it but only got it down to 45mb. This is still far too big. Can anyones tell me how other websites etc manage to create 4 -5 mins mpg movies at around 6 - 8mb?? not too fussed about quality as its for website.
    Can anyone help..

Normally, I believe they lower the resolution (and/or if you're using a format other than MPEG, the bitrate as well).

Of course, for the other formats, you can also try recompressing with a higher-compressing codec.

  3. low bitrate flv or h264 mp4

size of video file = bitrate x time
