This PC came with PowerDVD. Version 7, I think. (There's no Help > About, but that's what I see in the Properties of PowerDVD.exe.)
If I open the Configuration settings and use Player > Advanced, under the OSD tab there's a checkbox to enable OSD (the on-screen display) for a brief period. With that checked, I get a display of information like '1x speed', 'Pause', etc. But when that disappears it is replaced by a permanent display of the panel of information shown here:
How can I get rid of that obstruction please, or make that temporary too? And, if I don't check that option, is there any way to display the information whenever I want?

OK, found the answer a few minute s later thanks. Embarrassingly obvious once you know: right-click the play window and uncheck 'Show information'.
