I keep trying to capture and out of the programs I have it either tells me " Digital Video Driver cannot capture MPEG files" or Cannot connect to video capture device". :-? I can control my camera (JVC) from the programs and view my recordings but I cannot capture anything.
I have a JVC DVL815u camera with firewire\
E.CD.C 5 and Adobe Priemere and Ulead Video Studio. It doesn't seem like it would be hard since I can follow instructions but I keep getting these error messages.
Also my firewire card is a Soundblaster Audigy OEM with the 1394 port.
Also my video card is a Gforce2 Ti500 which is known to work for capture.

normaly dv capture is done in avi... unless u capture with your video card but you'll lose quality that way. unless your trying to import from your multimediacard (i haven't checked if your cam has the feature) and in that case it's usually done through usb. If it,s because you want to use the footage for (s)vcd you might want to capture first then frame serve to tmpgenc.
