im pretty new here so im sorry if this is in the wrong area.
im looking to convert all of my movies to a smaller format while still maintaining a decent quality.
i've ripped the movies using DVDFab 5. there's a folder for audio files but they are all empty. the video file folders contain files with extensions .vob, .ifo, and .bup.
each movie currently takes up around 4 to 5 gigs. i was wondering if there was any way to bring this down to around a gig or so. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

You could try a freeware program like AutoGK and convert them to Xvid/Divx. They should still play on a set top Divx player, if desired. You should be able to set the file size where you you want it. One to two GB in Xvid/Divx format should give you decent quality.

The AUDIO_TS folder is normally empty. If you want to know more about the VOBs, IFOs, BUPs in the VIDEO_TS folder, look to the upper left on this page in 'WHAT IS' DVD.

 And welcome to our forums.
