Ok so i was having some issues burning DVD movies and I upgraded my firmware for the DVD burner and I think the issue is resolved. I have Maxell 16x DVD+R and Verbatim 16x DVD+R (which is supposed to be highly recommended). I burned the same project on both discs and on the Maxell it worked fine when I played it in my DVD player but the Verbatim had a blue screen with a folder with nothing in it. I guess I am asking what burning software is the most consistent for different types of discs. I used Ulead DVD Movie Factory 6 Plus to burn both discs and I burned them at 8x speed. Thanks

No. After authoring with Ulead DMF 6, bmoreravyns would use imgburn to burn the folders or iso. Imgburn will make an iso to burn with folders.

No, it is mainly a burning application for CD/DVD's. It has some other really nice features as well. Check out the revision history sometime. It's quite extensive.

Choose Build Mode to burn DVD folders.-The Mang -
I'm sure if you look at the programs settings, you should be able to place the project on the HDD for later burning. I'm sure it's already doing this. You probably have a setting that also burns the project when it's done.

You should be able to output the dvd to a folder on your hdd in ulead.

It's good to know that upgrading your firmware fixed your problem. That rarely fixes your particular problem.
Basically we know that ImgBurn is a good quality burning program that does the right things. Nero, for example, does some things prior to burning that actually can make your discs more susceptible to unrecoverable errors in the future. I have never been real impressed with Ulead and I'd trust ImgBurn above it. -
You can use ImgBurn for audio CD burning, but I don't recommend it as such. I think the official web site (http://www.imgburn.com) has a screenshot or two of this. Audio CD burning is actually something I would recommend Nero for. Note that ImgBurn can convert a lot of audio types to CD audio during the burn process, so it actually can be complicated to try to make a data CD of, say, MP3 files in ImgBurn without it trying to turn them into an audio CD. This kind of thing, plus some nice control over CD-Text on a track by track basis, is why I use Nero for audio CD burning.

I've been using Nero, I'll continue to use it for CDs - thanks!

Ditto to what Jim44 says. I've started burning Audio CD's with it too, and it's been flawless. Awesome, awesome tool!!

I make Ulead DVDWS2 "burn" out to a folder set. I do not let it make an ISO or burn a disc directly. It doesn't work as wel.
I use RecordNow Max 4.5, Prassi ONES or ImgBurn to burn DVD-Video folders. These are the only programs that get it done 100% of the time.
I've dumped Nero for audio CDs now too, I use something else that is freeware. It's on my other computer, I forget the name. PM me if you want to know.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Ok so basically I would really appreciate it if someone who knows alot bout burning DVD's could give me step by step instructions for the best way to burn them. From beginning to end. I already have the.Avi files on my computer. I just need to know the best and most successful way to create DVD movies from them. Thanks them. Thanks.
-
Put avi files into FAVC or DVD Flick and let them author a DVD structure. You will get a folder called Video_TS, which will contain your VOBs, IFO and BUP files.
Open Imgburn. Click on the Write Files and Folders button.
Select the Video_TS folder, then click the Burn button.
Works every time for me.Read my blog here.

I used WinAvi Video Converter 9 to create my Video_TS folder and then burned with Imgburn. I overlooked the option in WinAvi to create a menu for my DVD so have to do it over again. Has anyone ever used WinAvi before? If so can you tell me what kind of menu it makes for the DVD? The program doesn't really have any templates that I could see so I have no idea what the menu looks like after it is burned. By the way, the DVD I did burn without the menu, the quality was excellent and if the menu had been on there, then the DVD would not be a coaster right now. LOL

WinAVI is an all-in-one piece of crap. They like to spam forums, and they have zero respect because of it.
ConvertXToDVD has superior encoding quality, and the people of VSO Software are courteous and professional. I suggest using it instead.
If you want nice menus, you need to use something else entirely, not all-in-one software.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Does ConvertxtoDVD create a Video_TS folder to burn directly to DVD?
-
Yes. I use it to create menu-less discs. If I want to add menus, I can rip from ISO (IFO mode) or simply re-use the VOB (if less than 1GB, short clips or episodes -- merging multi VOB can lead to errors).

Img burn is good. i can burn dvds. but the problem is if you select folders to add, then if yoiu click a folder which contain small folders indie it, it will not accept the first one as such . it willl bifurcate it and add one by one. this makes some inconvinience as there may be a few folders indisde a folder especially some software programme folders.

ok dear. i will expl.
i do see the message. i add the folders one by one. suppose the 24th folder have some folders inside it. then if i click to add this, it will divide to somany and then i have to select one by one. the net resultis i will not get ll the related folders inside one foldr. what i mean to say is it is of a single particular folder normally it will be of a software take it for eg-tmpgenc3.if i add all the folders in one main folder and name it as compilation it will be burned as compilation and there is no problem. in this condition i will not get all the folders view on the first click. -
