Hi
I am quite familiar with copying DVD's and also making my own.
For copying, I use DVD Fab and then I shrink it using DVD Shrink.
My father in law now wants some of these soundtracks in MP3 format, so he can listen it on his ipod.
Can someone please help?
Thanks
Albie

Weekends aren't the best time to ask questions here. Many of us do something on weekends other than participate in the forums here.
Here's a guide I have always used for DVD to CD audio conversions, but it also covers converting DVD to MP3.

If you are familiar with DVD copying, than you can use DVD Decrypter to extract sound from DVD, than BeLight with BeSweet to convert to mp3. All free.
If you want to separate songs than use Audacity for that. -
As a oneclick solution, I've found ImToo DVD Audio Ripper to be not half bad.

I decrypted the DVD with DVD Decrypter. This is the folder with the content:
What file should I now add in "input" and please help me with my settings.
Thanks

You need to use DVD Decrypter in IFO mode>Stream Processing> check"enable stream processing"> uncheck all except your audio stream>Demux.. you'll have an AC3 file to import in Belight..
Make sure your audio stream is highlighted or it won't work..." Who needs Google, my wife knows everything" -
This is what I have done so far, but I get stuck
You need to use DVD Decrypter in IFO mode>Stream Processing> check"enable stream processing"> uncheck all except your audio stream>Demux.. you'll have an AC3 file to import in Belight..
This is the file that I get
If I open it, there is nothing in it
except if I open it as a VOB file, then I get this error message, and the screen looks like this.
So, somewhere a setting is wrong! -
You forgot to HIGHLIGHT your audio stream in DVD Decrypter... Belight needs an AC3 file not a vob..

I am not sure why are you not trying to demux LPCM audio, since that one is wav uncompressed file. Much better than ac3.
No conversion needed in that case, just split songs, if reqired.
LPCM is your default audio stream anyway.
Even if converting to mp3, it is beter from wav(uncompressed), than from ac3(compresed).
Do not feel bad about Decrypter, I took me a while to figure that one also. -
Hey tinker, not sure how many times I forgot to highlight the audio stream in DVDD...And yeah, much better for OP to use an uncompressed wav>mp3

Yeah, Decrypter is kind of strange in that. You figure, when you check something it will be there.

Yes, I forgot to highlight it!!
Unfortunately Im not at home till Friday, then I'll start again.
Thanks for all the replies -
I got my own solution on google- downloaded Free Mp3 Wma Converter and it did the job for me!
