  1. Using a Lite-On Blu-Ray burner and AnyDVD, I made a copy of the movie Sin City.
This backup copy would play in the PC as well as Panasonic BDP-30 but it would not play in the Sony BDP-S350.

    Any suggestions?

It maybe doesn't support bd-r media or you have to try another bdr media brand.

  3. The meida is Verbatim. Afraid to try it again until I find out the problem, the blank blu-ray is a few dollars each!

For DVD media, Verbatim is one of the best mediaS.

  4. Strange. I tried the disc in my friend's PS3 and it worked.

If it plays in PS3, it should play in my Sony BDP-S350, right?

Not necessarily. A while back, there were comments that the Sony set-top players (maybe all BD players) wouldn't allow playback from home-burned BD discs, or barely, if at all. I don't know if that holds true today (or ever did), but maybe it'd be a good idea to check the instruction book for the BDP-S350 and see if it mentions anything about being able to play from home-made BD media.
