Since Xvid and ffdshow are both good at first I tought that they would give the same result. Like most people I listen to a lot of video from different sources. And I used to install codec pack like cccp to name only the latest. Recently I did some clean up in my programs and found that I did'nt realy need all those codec. Well for now. So I downloaded the latest Xvid, Divx, AAC, AC3. For a start then installed them. For a strange reason, I could play many file whit no problem but when it came to Xvid files, that were recently downloaded or older file that I converted to MPEG4/Xvid whit AVS Video Converter I got some strange rendering. Some video had vertical line other had gray horizontal line that seem to be moving. I tried to convert them to other format but the result was the same. So finaly I had some FLV to play and I downloaded FFDshow. Remembering some option in the instalation I decided to try FFDshow to render Xvid file. Some uninstall/ clean / install later all my XVID file played whit very good quality. Humm ?
Surely Xvid decoder are very good but for me they must need some adjustement. I only wish I knew what? Since FFDShow is playing nice, I'm going to stick to it for now.
What do you think !
