  1. is it possible to recover any lost pictures from a currapt 2GB SD card (PQI)and if it is, which are the best programs for this job.

    my sister is going to mail the card soon so I can check it out

  2. first i'd try one of the free programs like freeundelete, but if it can't recover anything you might need to purchase one of the more powerful ones. here's a comparison.

    i've used recovermyfiles and it is fairly good, but if the card is truly dead and can't be accessed you may be out of luck with any program.

  3. SD cards are VERY robust.. You can fire them out of a cannon and they still work. Its more likely that something has corrupted the filesystem so your pics should still be there.

    Next day I found the camera in a million pieces

    Still have the card, but still can not get the picts off of it

    in your case it's a physical damage.I hope I don't have the same issue.she said only error msg

    Here is an older freeware Product I have used to recover damaged cards. Not very fancy, but if a card reader can see the card it can recover the majority of images. Good Luck
    Zipped by Me and scanned with NAV.

    I received the card yesterday ,and used both programs.DIR from bodyslide is faster than Recover My Files($59) both recovered the same amount of pictures (over 800). few of the pictures are messed up .thank you guys for the help.

    BTW, I think the best program IMO in Restorer2000
    It's only let me down once.....aka 100s of cars

  10. learned one thing .never buy a cheap memory card. my PC and laptop recognized only 950MB from the 2GB .it's not ever worth sending back to PQI for replacement
