Hi, I have personal mpeg footages that are 300 MB in filesize. I would like to convert these into a smaller file size for future use (watch them later on via dailymotion or youtube). I need to convert them into 150 mb or less. What is the best tool out there?

Use AutoGK and convert to avi xvid with mp3. You can try use the target quality settings or set the exact size(slower encoding). Or if you want to batch convert several mpgs use WinFF.

Or do you want reconvert to mpg?

Please note that each conversion is lossy, so you will lose quality. If you try to upload your files to YouTube or similar sites, they may yet re-encode your videos again to comply with their standards. And if one day you want to re-encode your re-encoded videos to DVD or BluRay, the final result is probably not going to be very good at all. You can get the size you want, just be sure before you start that you are willing to accept any quality losses to get the desire size.

Thank you, Baldrick and jman98. I won't worry about quality loss since I won't be overwriting / deleting the original. I just needed to resize / convert some of it to upload online so I can watch them when I am away from home. Since most of the video sites I know only allow very limited size and running time of clips for upload. Unless there is one that I don't know of....
