  1. We just bought a notebook computer at Future Shop. It is a Compaq Presario A940ca. At the moment I am working on making the recovery discs. It is taking a long time to make them. Do these type of discs usually take a long time to make? The computer has Windows Vista Home Premium as its OS. It has a Intel Pentium Dual Core Mombile Processor T2390 (1.86 GHZ). I am trusting that things will work faster when the recovery discs are finished. The laptop is for my Mom to play Solitaire on and for us to watch DVDs on its 17 inch screen.

I have read that Windows Vista really slows a system down. I suppose I can get used to working at a slower pace. We payed a fee for them to setup the computer, remove adware junk from the computer. I am hoping my Mom can get alot of enjoyment out of this computer. I am going to put Pysol Solitaire on it for her, it has about 300 versions of Solitaire for her to play. I shrink alot of video to divx and I am hoping to put VLC on it, to enjoy watching video on it. I am curious if anyone else has bought this model. Thank you in advance for any information on this type of computer. I am so used to Windows XP, and if creating these Recovery Disc is any indication, I think I will have to get used to a slower computer when it is bogged down with Vista.

  2. Well I got the Recovery Discs made. Mom is playing solitaire and is quite pleased. It plays DVDs just fine; only thing is you have to be careful where you stand to get a good view of the screen. It is not so bad after all.
