    Oftentimes my CR will show a blue screen, even though there's a weak but watchable signal underneath. (I have confirmed the signal is watchable by pressing "record", taping the signal, and reviewing it later.) Is there any way to defeat that blue screen and force the VCR to show me whatever signal is available?

    I have multiple model numbers - 3902, 5902, 7500, 7900, et cetera.

    Go into the vcr Function Set menu and turn "Blue Back" to off.
