Hello,
I have been using MY DVD 4.5.2 to move digital movies from my camcorder then burn them to DVD's. Had pretty good success for awhile but now My DVD seems to not want to complete it's tasks. I have been reading this forum for sometime and I feel there surely is someone out there who can help me. I know very little about this hobby and I find most of the talk on this fourm way above my head and very confusing. What I want to find is a software suite that contains all of the software I need to go from my camcorder to my PC to DVD. Something like My DVD but something that works. I would prefer not to have a different software for each phase of the process. I know, if I would get more involved and learn to use these different softwares I could probably get a better product. The fact is, I am not as skilled as most of you and what is pleasing to my eye is much less refinded that what is pleasing to you. What I need is much less than what you need.
Can you help me? If so, it would be appreciated more than you can understand.
Thanks

When you buy an all in one, there are some weaknesses, unless you spend some bucks. Then, you get more complexity, which you do not need. Good individual components you can choose later, when you are more adroit at making DVDs. A good program, and reasonably priced, is Ulead Video Studio 11. It does a lot for the price. I use it, but now use VideoRedo for cutting and editing. Then I use TDA to author and burn. You could do it all with VideoStudio, but not as well. You can add modules to your collection over time. There are some excellent specific job freebees too.

pepegot1,
Thanks for taking time to reply. I looked at VideoReDo and like what I see. You said that you only use VRD for cutting and editing. Is this because VRD will not do all of the required basic functions or do you just like to way some software handles certain features? Will VRD do all of the functions I need to go from camcorder to PC to DVD? Or will I use it for some of the functions then other software for other functions? As I stated I would really like to be able to use just one software to go from A to Z if possible. So I guess my question is, can I get by with using only VRD or do I need other software?
Again, thanks for taking time to reply you help is greatly appreciated.
