hello.
i downloaded the windows sdk (DirectX) and used the playcap sample codes in C++.However, it can be compile and debug but all it appears is just a black window.
Is there anyone that can assist me in this ? Is there anything wrong with the codes?
or was it my mistake? Or is there by any chance that there are other sample codes that can capture and preview from the card itself?
Please do help.
Thanks in advance.
Sue.

Possibly you simply haven't selected the correct input on the capture card, or you haven't set the capture card up correctly to match the source video. You can experiment with the "GraphEdit" application (which comes with the DirectX SDK) to see how to build a working capture graph, and apply that knowledge to your C/C++ code later.Originally Posted by suefyzah

The DirectX SDK is the wrong SDK. The DirectShow documentation and sample code were moved from the DirectX SDK to the main Windows Software Development Kit (it has various alternative names) some time ago. If your DirectX SDK has DirectShow stuff then it is significantly out of date. John Miller

My copy is the DirectX 9.0 SDK, which has DirectShow docs in it. I've never bothered to keep this SDK up to date because my code already works. Is there something I desperately need from later versions?Originally Posted by JohnnyMalaria

Thank you for the reply. I have checked the settings and all, it's correct. I test the viewing of the camera, it works find.

Therefore where can i have the updated SDK sample codes? Isit by downloading the Windows Software SDK?Originally Posted by JohnnyMalaria

Yes, you need to download the latest SDK from Microsoft. There are some options:Originally Posted by suefyzah
