Not sure if this has been covered before. I did a search on this forum and can't find anything. I've looked for quite a while for an easy way to convert DVD9 to Half-D1 DVD5, but so far, nothing. Sometimes transcoding just doesn't cut it, and resizing IS the answer. The past several years, I have been doing it manually, converting the VOBs and editing the IFOs by hand. But there must be an easier way to do it by now, I would think, something similiar to CloneDVD, etc., that will reencode the VOBs to Half-D1 (or any other standard resolution) and edit the IFOs for you while keeping the menus, etc. I tried Virtualdub to see if that would do it, but it won't work properly on my Win2k3 system. I've also tried not editing the IFOs and processing the files through a couple apps that are "supposed" to "repair" buggy or poorly written menus, etc. to no avail. So, it leaves me spending quite a while rewriting IFOs with one hand with my calculator in the other, when I would think that there "should" be a program already available that will do it for me.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

  3. DvdRebuilder.

Options -> AVS Options -> Advanced (Expert) Options -> Resize to Half D1 > Apply to All

DVDRB re-encodes, it doesn't transcode. You may want to do a run at half D1 and one at full size and compare.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!
