Hi everyone, I usually use premiere on a friends work computer to edit up clips I take from a digital camera and sports camera. This program is so frustrating, dont get me wrong though I can use it at an above average level but here's the thing.
I used windows movie maker on my pc tonight and liked the simplicity but I would like something that will export to more then .wmv

What software is out there, preferably free or cheap that can use mpg avi files with cut, paste and transition tools?
Yes I have looked in tools but I can only find programes like virtualdub that dont offer much in the way of "editing"

    cheers.

I use ulead videostudio 11.5+ which I think you will find does what you need.

You can download a trial version that is not full featured but should have enough functions to let you decide if it is for you.

Version 12 was released as a Beta (I think) in Japan a couple of months back so should be released to the rest of the world sometime soon. (I hope) so there are deals to be had on version 11.
Which you can upgrade free on line to 11.5+
There is also a remarkably good dedicated user forum.

Pinnacle studio 12 is also worth considering but although I used version 9.4 and liked it they no longer have a try before you by version and given that versions 10&11 had issues I am suspicious that there is no trial.
