I've been trying to burn the vcd using the formats described herein but only to run into problems with each application. Everyone of them seems to have its limitations. I use Nero mostly, but it takes forever to encode and subsequently burn. Why should a 44 min clip take over 2 hours to encode and burn?
In everyone's knowledge what is the best encoder/burner program you like?
Is there a program that will allow for burning longer than 60 minutes on a VCD. Unless you have a multi disc tray dvd player, it is a drag getting up every hour to change cds.

    Thanks a million:

  2. VideoCD gives you 74min movie (740mb) on a 74min/650mb CDR media.

Do NOT use Nero for encoding! and ever since TSCV and VCDEasy came out, I wouldn't even use it for Authoring a VCD or SVCD.

Use TMGPEnc or any other program for encoding your AVI files, they are more professional and gives higher quality and faster encoding.

  3. please allow me to suggest a site that comprehensivley covers just about all aspects of video creation or authoring.

check out www.vcdhelp.com and i think you will find all the answers you need. after you have read the site if you still need help there is a forum that you can search to find answeres to questions that may have already been asked. once you have checked out those sources of information, if you still need help then try asking a question on the forum. if you do post on the forum please include all the information that is relevant like what methods you tried, what the resulting error messages were and any other descriptions of specific failures you have encountered. i mean you wouldnt want to go and ask a question that is clearly answered already.
