after i have converted the MKV file to MPEG-2 using FAVC. the graphics are great, and a imgburn screen comes up. is that what FAVC uses to burn its videos onto dvd. furthermore, if i wanted to use Nero to burn the new MPEG-2 video onto dvd, would it decrease the graphics of the MPEG-2 video.

No, but why would you want to ? Imgburn is a far better program for burning DVD Video. Nero's burns are not fully compliant.

If you must use Nero, then only use the burning part, not NeroVision/Express, and burn the content of the Video_TS folder created by FAVC.

the problem i have is i havent figured out how to create a menu that i like with imgburn. plus, if imgburn is able to combine the segments of the video into one. and one more thing, when i was using favc at the beginning, am i able to choose not to have any chapters, the default is 5 minute. example, for a video thats 1 hour and 6 minutes, it was split up into 4 parts.

Imgburn just burns. That is all it does.

What segments ? Is the source multiple avi files ?

NeroVision will mostly likely re-encode your video and reduce the quality. If you want to create menus etc, then in FAVC make sure you have ticked No for Open Imgburn, and Keep under Working Files.

When FAVC finished, you can use GUIForDVDAuthor on the files created in the temporary folder to author a new DVD with your own menus and chapter stops, and delete the one that FAVC created.

if i use GUIForDVDAuthor to create the menu, i can use this same program to burn the video onto the dvd, or do i have to revert back to using Imgburn.

sorry, i know this is a dumb question, but i just want to get all my questions sorted before i start using the program.
