divx6 ac3 to hdtv

hi from newbie
am dloading an imax prog in hd so they say. it says divx6.ac3 if its any help

2 questions
can i play this in hidef on my pc or laptop

how would you go about converting for use on my hdtv

i'm sure you know so thanks for any help you an give.

ps i do not have a hd player nor abluray yet but will get blueray when cheaper

.ac3 is an ac3 audio file. But try play it with VLC and see what happens.
