    i might be stupid or something but i am so frustrated in trying to burn video(divx, mp4, video clip, avi) to dvd to be allowed to play in a regular ol' dvd player. ive tried so many things by reading so many diff. forums and i havent gotten anywhere. how and wut kind of programs do i need to make them play in a dvd player

    ConvertXtoDVD and Imgburn will cover most input formats. ConvertXtoDVD is not free, Imgburn is. You could also try FAVC and DVD Flick for free encoder/authoring tools. They provide basic text menus if you need them (DVD Flick latest beta required for menus).

    ConvertXtoDVD, not free but probably easiest and supports all video sources.
    or
    DVD Flick, free but may not work with all video sources.
    or
    FAVC, free but not as simple as the tools above.
