ps3 audio 5.1 ch wont play

Hiya,

I've been having problems with 5.1 CH sound not playing on my PS3, or maybe I should say on my TV.

I understand I'd be losing sound quality by 'downgrading' my audio from 5.1 to 2ch, but are there any programs out there that make that possible? Preferably freeware.
