  1. What software is the best to ensure the best quality of backing up my DVDs????

I have used flaskmpg and smart ripper successfully but the quality is not there? I have seen a certain 4 cd svcd movie and am trying to emulate the quality of that svcd...

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.....

    Thanks,

    Mo

Look to the left under DVD rip. For a quick and easy way I'd recommend using Sefy's Newbie guide which utilizes...

    SmartRipper
    Dvd2AVI
    TMPGEnc
    Nero

Once again, I vote for dvd2svcd. It takes a little work and searching to get it working right, but once you do, you'll be happy with the results.

It does take some time (12 hours or so? for a regular movie, longer with subs), but it's the best quality I've seen so far.

  4. Well guys I think you all would be wrong there.

A program has just been released called DUP-DVD and its the absolute DOGS "B*****S" for ripping DVD to VCD, SVCD e.t.c.
Its basicly like DVD2AVI and TMPGE etc all in one. You can download the demo at [url]www.dup-dvd.com

Give it a try I did and got some pretty good results.
