  1. I have an ATi TV-Wonder and I can capture video at 6MB/s with both MPEG1 and MPEG2 code.
I can not see any big difference between these two codes.
    Anyone knows?

    Thanks.

  3. Thanks for the answer.

I bought the ATi TV-Wonder to record TV programs. I capture the videos in MPEG mode and finally save them in DIVX.

So if there is no difference in capture quality between MPEG1 and MPEG2, I'll capture in MPEG1, because it is muchi easier to transfer MPEG1 files to DIVX.

    Thanks.

  4. There is virtually no difference between MPEG1 and MPEG2 if you're capturing progressive videos (MMC only captures progressive).
MPEG2 is usually slightly better at higher resolutions because of a larger read-ahead buffer, but you won't see the difference at 6Mbps.
