I would switch over to VLC but VLC still uses 100% CPU time when playing an AVI or mkv file while WMP11 doesn't with the AVI. Also, another feature with WMP11 I like is that when you minimize it, you can still control it from the taskbar with the WMP11 toolbar. If VLC had that and didn't use 100% CPU time, I'd switch over but until then, I must use WMP11.Originally Posted by redwudz

You might need Haali Media Splitter for mp4 files also.
