    G'day all
Is it possible to change the audio format of a DVD?
I have a DVD with AC3 5.1-CH audio. My DVD player had 5.1 surround sound but my TV is mono. If I want the sound I don't get the voices. If I want the voices I don’t get all the sound channels. Is it possible to extract the audio stream, convert it to AC3 or other format and re merge it to the movie?

I have tried to back it up with different software programs but it won't change the audio format.

I'll be grateful for any help.

All DVD players can down mix 5.1 to stereo. You should not be missing any channels. All you need is a stereo RCA to mono connector that matches your TV.
