Is there a bug in DVD2AVI for audio output?

I used DVD2AVI to get the .wav file from a DVD film. The audio file is about 6 seconds longer than the actual film. The video and audio started in sync, as the film goes, they became more and more out of sync. If I disable the forced film option. Both video and audio are longer than the actual film and they are in sync. Is this a bug in the program or did I do something wrong? Thanks for your reply.

The film is probably irregularly telecined, in which case forcefilm won't work quite right. I suggest manually inverse telecining using the filter in TMPGEnc or Avisynth.

Thanks for the information. Do I need to find out which part I should do inverse telecine or just do it for the whole movie? What parameters should I use? Will the movie be 6 seconds longer than the original? Thanks again.

I would definitely recommend allowing the inverse telecine filter to operate on the whole movie, otherwise you could have very unpredicatable results. What parameters are you unsure of - are you referring to TMPGEnc? And yes, in my experience the resultant playtime doesn't always exactly match the declared movie length, but having the audio in sync is certainly more important, I think.
