    Hello all,
I'm not quite sure in which section to post this, so I'll first try in here. Please redirect me to the correct section if inappropriate.

I recently got a DVD which won't play anywhere, at all. There are 5 VOB files with 175mb each, but when I try to open them with VLC (or any other player for that matter) nothing happens; it looks like the pc is loading the video but apparently it's not. I tried demuxing them with vobedit, but all the files I get are empty (ie, filesize = 0kb). Does anyone have an idea what is going on and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Please give us more information!

Does it work on a standalone player?
Are there just 5 vob files? No ifo,bup files?
How was it made? like from a dvd recorder and maybe not finalized? Then it might be possible to recover with nerovision, isobuster or cdroller.

No, the screen stays black and you can't do anything (skip chapter, fast forward...).
In addition to the vobs there are also 2 BUP and 2 IFO files. I'm not sure how it was made, but since they're homevideos I guess they just burned some videofiles with a program like Nero.
