  1. I used DVD Fab Platinum to burn a DVD. I think DVD Fab Platinum uses ImgBurn (I'm not sure about this) but during the burn process, there was rapid changes in the disk speed during the burning. After the disk was burned, when I look at the physical disk and can see a wide concentric band (in the burned area) where ( I think) the laser was getting more and less power during the burn. In the past, anytime I see a concentric band in the burned portion of the DVD, that was a bad burn, but this DVD plays fine. My question is, why is there a concentric band on the DVD when using this burning program. I normally use Nero and never see this kind of pattern on the disk. (I filled this disk to near capacity and the concentric band is in the burned portion.)

  2. Can you take a picture? I'm uncertain what you mean by "concentric band." 100% of my burnt DVD's have what I would describe as a wide concentric band.

DVDFab uses the VSO burning engine by default , but you can choose ImgBurn or Nero if they are installed in the options

    Zonal burning rings.
If you burn at 16x, for example, the disc starts a burn at 4x, then 6x, then 8x, etc. The 16x is only that last few hundred MB near the end. The change in laser causes the dye colors to alter.
