I have some HD MPEG2 recorded on DVD. I think I saw a post here that one way is to use a Xbox. My HDTV has only component input for HD. Can somebody tell me the configuration in simplest terms? Thanks.

The simplest way is that if your HDTV can act as a PC monitor (most if not all can do this) then just take your PC and connect it to the HDTV using the HDTV as your monitor. There are a variety of programs that can play HD content on a PC. I recommend VLC if you need something. The Xbox can play HD content, but I think you may have to do some converting to get it to work. You'll need to check with Xbox experts on that. WMV at 720p is known to work.

This is what I'm talking about but I could not find that post I wonder if I will record the MWV on DVD or play it on PC which is more difficult for me to do. Thanks, anyway.

Thank you Baldrick for that link.

  5. A lot of media players can play back HD mpeg2 content, the xbox360 and PS3 as well using Tversity.

    Buffalo Linktheater
    Linksys Media Player
    Dlink Media Player

Or you could put together a media center PC.
