Hey, I just bought the Panasonic S53 DVD player, and I currently only have 2 standard def. tv's (Planing to by an HDTV soon enough) I have tried watching several burnt DVD-R's with it and I can't get any movies widescreen. I tried all 6 resolutions on the DVD player settings, and it's pretty much all the same results just a small square box in the middle of the screen, and there's no settings on both TV's to change the resolution. I used to have an older Panasonic player and watched over 500 burnt movies and they all worked fine. I'm just wondering if this happening because I don't have an HDTV or is there some sort of settings that I missed. Thanks

Yeah they actually do, I just tried a few more burnt DVD's and maybe 1 of 10 works good, but the rest of them still have 2 black lines on each sides that doesn't make the movies completly widescreen.
