I have some VCDs from Hong Kong that are bilingual. The creators of these disks made the left speaker side in Mandarin Chinese and the right speaker side in Cantonese. I assume in Hong Kong there are VCD players that can easily adjust and mute one side so that only one language comes out. Needless to say, when I play these VCDs on my computer in stereo it sounds like gibberish.
I would like to convert the the VCDs into a monolingual MPEG. I already know to use VCDGear to convert .DAT files into MPEG. I assume the best way to do it, is to strip out the audio from one side and replace it with the same audio found on the other side. How do I do this?
Thank you.

You could simply reduce the volume from the side you don't want to hear.

Aside from that, all you need is an audio program (I use Goldwave, but it isn't free). You then simply choose the side you want to keep and copy it to the other channel (as you noted above). There are several audio tools listed in the Tools section, and a Google search will turn up hundreds of others.Google is your Friend
