a friend and I are both buying macs and we have two separate concerns so hopefully you guys can help us out.
First of all, we are getting the new 933mhz (NOT dual processor) macs with two hard drives (one drive for media, the other for the OS and final cut pro) and 512 megs of RAM. We both plan on using final cut pro 3.0 to edit our video.
So basically we have 3 questions
1. Is a 933 G4 fast enough to do REAL-TIME rendering with DVD quality sized movies?
2. I will be using a prosumer quality mini-dv camera (sony pd150) for most of my captures, will I need to get any extra equiptment besides the mac to capture at DVD quality rates without substantial frame drops?
3. My friend will be using analog video for most of his captures, do the new G4s have video IN? The website doesn't mention it, but they mention a video out. Also, if he needs to buy a video capture card for his analog video, what would be an affordable video card that could capture video at dvd quality? By affordable I mean 300 dollars or less (and hopefully more like 100 dollars or less).
If this question has been asked, I'm sorry. I checked all the old posts and I didn't see it.
Thanks in advance...
