I downloaded some movies and they are all.avi's.I hooked up my laptop to my tv via s-video and tried playing them in cyberlink powerdvd. They will show up on the laptop but not the tv.I then tried playing in windows media player and they play both on the laptop and tv but there is another problem. Both programs there is no sound coming from my tv just the laptop,so Iam wondering how to get sound coming from the tv.Iam running vista.

This might sound crazy but sound does'nt go through s-video cable. you do have cables that has a audio plug with it.I use something like this http://www.svideo.com/sv3rca.html

I used to hookup my external pc speakers to the laptop for sound, thats what I used years ago before switching to standalone dvd/divx player
